Current thoughts about this website

My god, have I been loving building this website. Has it kept me from studying? yes... But whatever, I have also studied a little bit and this has also kept me from scrolling or bingewatching so, let's call it a good thing. I have felt really creative and accomplished working on it. I honestly thought my HTML/css/js skills were rustier than this, but almost everything has been working.

I am really proud of this blogpage, I found a (hackey but working) way to load blogposts from files istead of having to add them all to a long-ass html page. Because Neocities isn't compatible with a JSON infrastructure or anything, I am just naming my blogposts in smart ways, so a simple javascript code can find them. Because I use seperate article, personal, etc. folders in order to keep the filter buttons working, the posts are ordered by adding all articles first, then personal blogposts, etc. I still want to find a way to fix that. The loading ended op taking a few seconds, so I figured out how to add a fun and simple loading screen, which I am also really proud of!

I use a similar way to add pictures to my shrine pages, which is also really fun! I do really want to throw a bunch of css onto it however. I think I will change those images to iframes ass well, so I can add a title and a description and stuff. I am also thinking I could make those look like pokemon cards of some sort, or at least longer polaroids. That would be really fun!

I added shrine pages for all subjects I have now, except for cooking and birds. The math page still needs some css; I'm thinking of using a whiteboard as a background and maybe some fun figures I have. From my bachelor's project I have some that I can use. I also need to add more text to that one, like short explanations and stuff. The bird page obviously needs to have a little seperate page for the magpie where I explain my connection with it. The cooking page could maybe look like a recipe book of sorts? IDK about that one yet.

The index page is starting to look better and better, but I still want it to be a little bit more inviting... I will see about adding a gif or something fun like that.

I have also told a few people I know about the website, but I have not shared the link with anyone but my boyfriend. It have to admit that I am a little bit ashamed or something? I'm just scared that it is a little bit 'cringe'? Like especially these blogposts, I feel like they are chill and fun to write, but I also kind of don't want anyone I know to read them. However, I know those feelings are kind of bullshit. This website, these pages, this is what I like, so it doesn't even matter what other people think.

So yeah, it is really fun! Everyday I also click through some other people's pages and that gives me a ton of inspo to work with. I will add a post like this one every so often and then I will be able to read where I came from... Until then, See ya!
